History of the Championship Trophy

The Mid West Ballas Trophy is the trophyawarded each year to the winning team of the Mid West Ballas annual championship game, the Ballas Bowl. The trophy was originally called the "Imaginary East Coast Ballas Championship Game Trophy" in 2001, when the Ballas Bowl was originally named the East Coast Ballas Championship Game. It was renamed in 2009 because it was realized that the league actually never was on the “East Coast,” so it never really made sense.
The Mid West Ballas Trophy will be presented to the winning team's owner at a local watering hole, on the day of the championship. Previously, it was discussed, but nothing ever came of it. The trophy, created by Little Bill’s Trophy Company, is valued at $125.00 and depicts a regulation-size football in kicking position that is made entirely of bronze, standing 15 inches tall, weighing 3 pounds, it took approximately four days and 24 man-hours to create. The words “Mid West Ballas Fantasy Football Champion" are engraved and affixed on a separate item onto the base. On the right side of the trophy, past winners are listed dating back to 2001. After the trophy is awarded, it is sent back to Little Bill’s to be engraved with the winning team's name and then is sent back to the winning team for them to hold onto until the draft the following season.
The team is allowed to keep the trophy at their own facility, with one notable exception, if there is any damage to the trophy, that team is FULLY responsible for fixing or replacing the damaged trophy. This is part of the legal settlement between the managers and the Mid West Ballas League.
